Why

I initially developed this site to bring publicly available data into one place for projects I worked on as a freelancer. I also wanted, as a hobby, to build my own RuneScape player count tracking site.

When MisplacedItems went down, I decided to preserve the historical RuneScape data it had collected. In doing that, I gradually developed what this site has become today.

What

I have scripts that track publicly available RuneScape data.

My goal is to make it easier to see what is happening on RuneScape now and compare it with what happened in the past.

I also made a blog, which I call Lodestone because I couldn't think of a better name, where I post updates, analysis, and explanations about the data and how it is collected.

How

My scripts check publicly available pages and APIs at regular intervals.

Collection methods and limitations are explained on the Methodologies page.

These endpoints sometimes fail or return abnormal results. I manually review these problems, correct issues, and work to improve how the site handles edge cases.

My scripts use publicly available pages and APIs. They do not interact with game servers, access player accounts, or collect any private player information.

The information on this site is provided for research, reference, and general interest. I make an effort to keep it accurate, but I cannot guarantee that every source will always be available or correct.
